impudentsongbird: (but i crave the light)

The vibrations in this house hurt. This house, the house of a psychic, where things sank into the walls and stayed there and spoke back and--

Something touched him, something calm and crystalline. Fractured, but in a way that was strong beyond words unless the right chinks were found. Without real intent, without anything but the need for an anchor in this screaming abyss that had become his mind, Gabriel sank against that 'something' and clutched at it.

It took a moment before the wash of Skul's soul helped the migraine subside enough for Gabe to realise that it was Skul's soul, and that once again Gabriel was leaned into it as if it was a lifeline. In this house, it was. The psychic resonances were far too strong here to be anything but harmful in the state Gabe was now in. Skulduggery's proximity gave the Archangel something to latch onto, something to centre himself just enough to know where he was. Even then, it was too hard to think, too hard to do anything but grip Skul's shirt and hope it would subside soon.

"Always kinda wondered what a migraine felt like," he whispered, and even that purely physical noise made his head throb. This time he bit back on a whimper and buried his face in Skul's shoulder.
