It wasn't quite true. Gabe had said that Davina Marr was beyond saving as well, because she was. The difference between Davina Marr and vampires were that vampires were already dead. They should have already moved on, and hadn't. And unlike Skulduggery, they lacked the true cognizance to continue to make choices.

Gabe blanched. They were actually considering asking a vampire for help. A damned soul, someone who belonged to Lucifer in every way. Gabe's Master might have seen fit to offer Lucifer redemption, but to actually beg aid from one of his? Doing the same of Davina Marr had been more for Guild's benefit than theirs.

"If it's all the same to you," he said, a little pale, "I'd rather bow out of that conversation. I don't think it'd be good for my headache to be around a vampire, even one in the guise of humanity."
