"Oh, yes," Gabe said with a nod, peeking over the top of his hand. It hid the grin. It didn't hide the twinkle in his eyes. After he'd convinced Fletcher to come back they'd chosen to move on to another game, in this case Go Fish. Valkyrie had suggested Egyptian Ratscrew but Gabriel had claimed an unfair disadvantage given that he didn't have the capacity to move quickly. Skul had liked the idea for the same reason.

In the end Go Fish was all they could settle on, especially since Gabriel had admitted that details like exact card-numbers would have required active mind-reading and he, of course, wouldn't do that.

That didn't stop the friendly argument.

"It's the sweeping emotional changes which are the most visible," he continued as he rearranged his cards with practised flicks, glancing sidelong, and slyly, at Tanith. "Like whether one is hiding something or not. Ten please, Tanith."
