Yes. Time to let this go; Skulduggery was in an internal uproar, and he needed time to get this settled in his head. It wasn't something Gabriel had meant to happen now. It wasn't something he'd meant to happen at all, because he hadn't been thinking about it, and rather actively trying to not think about it.

Gabe had let Skulduggery ramble, had felt the metaphysical flinch and shudder at his touch, the guilt and uncertainty and sense of betrayal. Definitely time to change the subject.

The Archangel nodded and let his hand drop, and took a shifting step back so he sat on the edge of the bed. Despite himself, despite everything, despite how complicated things had suddenly become, he smiled, genuinely and truly--if with an edge of worry. "It's Solomon. He's destroyed his cane, and Craven attacked him. He was stabbed in the leg. Valkyrie managed to get him to the Dublin Methodist Hospital--or at least, that's where they were going when she prayed to me a few hours ago. I imagine they got there, or else I'd have heard from her again."

He looked up at Skulduggery. The lights in the room were dim, but they still reflected off his eyes, leaving them soft and warm and understanding. "You should go to him."
