"Redemption is found in various ways," Gsbe said softly, following their gaze. "What happens now is up to Guild, but unless I miss my guess, they won't be separated forever." There was a tiny smile on his lips. He'd have to check to be sure, but Gabe was very good at telling these kinds of things.
The Archangel still wasn't looking over when Valkyrie came out with her abrupt suggestion, but he did a moment later, and then a moment after that Gabe's laughter belled through the corridor. "The look on your faces," he said to the two men, still chuckling, even as he stepped forward to kiss Valkyrie's forehead. "Go get him, tiger."
By the time Fletcher was convinced that, yes, Valkyrie was serious and, yes, she did think it was a good idea, the rest of the group had found them. Corrival raised an eyebrow at the Teleporter's silly grin but said nothing. He gave Gabe a penetrating look as well, but again made no comment. "Well," he said dryly, "if we're all finished gallivanting, there's a few things some of us need to discuss. But not here. By your leave, Mr Renn."
