"Don't go gettin' a big head," Gabe retorted. "We won't have room in the world for yours and Rafe's."
The Archangel helped Solomon up the final step to the church proper, giving him another light squeeze and then putting the sorcerer's hand on Ghastly's arm so Gabe could turn to Paddy. He--Gabe, that is--was still grinning. Grinning because of the sunglasses, because of the collapsing relief in Paddy's soul, because of the gentle concern.
Before he did anything though, just because Paddy had been so genuinely concerned and Gabe could tell it, the Archangel stepped forward to give the priest a hug. When he pulled away his eyes were twinkling.
"Yep," he said with a nod. "Better than before then, even. Always helps when family's nearby." His grin broadened. "Hope you're ready, Pad, 'cos my brother's head's fit to take off the roof of your whole church."
"Does your family have any concept of subtlety at all?" Solomon asked rhetorically, head tilted and face rather careworn, but with a faintly amused-exasperated cast around his mouth and blank eyes. Those eyes stared past Paddy's head, even as he nodded to the man. "Paddy."
