Skipping smoothly over the 'Our Lord created us' bit, Fletcher was getting used to thinking of angels as actual beings. He perceived Gabriel's answer as a history lesson, at least, instead of more religious studies or fiction. With the way most religious priests Fletcher had known seemed to think, they might vehemently disagree with Gabriel about what angels were like and what they were meant for. Of course, in this scenario, they wouldn't know who Gabriel actually was, and Fletcher would be quietly laughing in the background. It was a soothing mental image.

"So you can make yourself look like whatever you want?" Fletcher stepped over to watch what the angel was doing, even though he couldn't understand a single symbol. "And you chose an actor? I get not wanting to look impressive or intimidating, but then what makes you decide on some random actor?"
